P.S.
Tradition
(please excuse the clearly amateur-quality photograpy and lack of lighting...)
We usually kick things off with a bottle of wine and some homemade pizza (on Trader Joe's whole wheat crust, of course) but tonight we met up with friends for happy hour, and grabbed some *embarassing* fast food on the walk home.
And then come the chocolate chip cookies. Yes, I make (quite possibly) the world's best chocolate chip cookies, and, in the spirit of sharing, I'll post my recipe...eventually ;)
We usually make 2 dozen, eat 'til we are full and then freeze the rest. Originally, freezing the leftovers was meant to slow down the pace at which we inhale the cookies. Unfortunately, in a fit of impatience, we discovered that these cookies actually taste better frozen.
Needless to say - they don't last very long (and there are only 2 of us!)
So - what weekend traditions do you have in your home?
On tap for this weekend:
pilates here
a massage here
dinner here
a bicycle ride to the beach with my sister and her hubs
a beach picnic
and plenty of this:
Leave a penny
And so, I decided it was time to start dropping my spare change back into the bowl.
Here's hoping that someday I can give as much back as I've gotten so far.

I've (not) been tagged!
So when I stumbled upon this post at Coco Sunday, I decided to take her up on her offer to consider myself tagged. So, Coco, thank you for that.
Meet betty:
What is your current obsession?
Teaching myself HTML so I can have a beautiful blog layout (no joke, I did this all by myself, and yes, I am quite proud.)
What are you wearing today?
Well, it's night now, but during the day: Lululemon pants and an Old Navy tank top. I'm not fancy when I work from home.
What's for dinner?
It was delicious - oven roasted potatoes mixed with sauteed leeks and bacon, topped with fresh dill. (This is what happens when I make it to the Farmer's Market during the week.)
What would you eat for your last meal?
I'd rather not have to think that far in advance.
What's the last thing you bought?
Bacon (for dinner).
What are you listening to right now?
Crickets. Summer is wonderful.
Of the moment pet peeve?
People who don't move all the way forward in traffic - this is how we cause gridlock people!
What do you love most about where you currently live?
The company ;) Living with Albert (my fiance) is the best. That, and proximity to the beach and mountains isn't so bad either.
What is your favorite colour?
Outside
What is your favorite piece of clothing in your wardrobe?
Judging by the amount of wear they get, either my black BR pants (work) or my Old Navy tank top collection (every where else).
Describe your personal style
Work: Kim Raver's character from 'Lipstick Jungle'
Evenings: Lululemon gear.
Weekends: Outdoor-sy w/ sunscreen.
Weekend evening: Short dresses, leggings, sandals.
What were you doing 10 years ago?
Coaching tennis during summers off from UCLA.
If you had $100 now, what would you spend it on?
See 'longing for' on sidebar...and maybe some wine :)
What are you going to do after this?
Sleep! (Or read and then sleep)
What are your favorite films?
Lately, HBO documentaries (they're free - can't beat that! and, really engaging.)
Your favorite books?
Ones with pages. I'm a fairly indiscriminate reader.
Do you collect anything?
Dust. Although if it is not intentional, is it really a "collection"? Or just laziness with regard to calling the cleaning lady...
What makes you follow a blog?
Good narrative, interesting topics, someone I'd want to befriend IRL.
What was the most enjoyable thing you did today?
All the cooking.
What is your favorite smell?
Albert.
What is on top of your to-do list?
Wedding planning mostly.
Tell me a random fact about yourself:
I can't fall asleep with the bedroom door open.
Hmm, well that was longer than I expected.
If you're still reading at this point, the rules for play:
1. Respond and rework; answer the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your invention, add one more question of your own.
2. Tag eight other people.
So anyone who would like to play...consider yourself tagged!
Is this thing on?
But you can call me Betty, lots of people do, and I don't object (much).
I'm just getting started here, blogging. Lots more to come!
